Which Fabric Is The Best Fabric For Your Face Mask?
There is so much conflicting information out there. We get it and understand completely that it's hard to know what to choose. We also get asked often about our choice to use fabric that is a polyester/cotton blend in our masks.
We were recently asked why we don't use 100% cotton for our masks. 100% cotton is the most common fabric used by many mask makers because it is readily available. In fact, the highest-rated fabric to be used as a filter is Poly, or what this article refers to as Polypropylene. In our mask, this fabric is blended with cotton to prevent skin irritation. We have done extensive research and testing to be able to design the most effective and comfortable, washable mask. Our 3 layered mask was rated at 98.8% BFE effectiveness, breathability of 3.8 Delta P, and 75 wash cycle. Making it the highest-rated reusable mask tested by Nelson Labs.
We understand that there are now tons of masks on the market and many can be purchased for much less money than ours but we have done the testing and research to produce a very high-quality mask that will help protect you and your community. We are all in this together and appreciate your choosing to shop from LA Linen.
